Hello again, I am back again with another sampling opportunity from Crowdtap. This time it's from Almay you may know and recognize the brand as great with people who have sensitive skin. It's a well know and highly recognizable department store makeup brand.
Their latest contribution to the makeup world is a tube of foundational comes with its own beauty blender. The blender is detachable you can use it with the tube or if you are more comfortable you can use it with you favorite beauty tool i.e. Foundation brush or beauty blender. Along with the beauty blender it boasts moisturizers, SPF and being able to hydrate.
I have included the description from the company on this new product which you will see a few lines down.
Almay Best Blend Forever™ is a lightweight, creamy foundation plus moisturizer in one. It covers imperfections easily and flawlessly with a built-in blending tool that buffs skin to a beautiful finish. Packed with vitamins and SPF 40 to keep your skin hydrated for up to eight hours. Buff. Blend. Boom! — you’re ready to head out the door.
I used this foundation on three separate occasions to really get a feel of the product. Before I go further this product was given to me complimentary to facilitate my review. The opinions and experiences are all my own.
Now back to my review like I said I used this on three separate occasions, as you all know I love in sunny Florida where we experience summer type weather for more than 80% of the year. I also have oily acne prone skin and I do have a few blemishes/ can scars. I mention this becauas these issues are the driving force to the formula type I choose for my makeup.
I received the shades 200 Cappuccino Foundation and 210 Mocha to test. Now neither of these were an exact match one being off and the other being clearly too dark. I am not sure if the added ingredients had any impact on the foundations coloring but it would be a safe bet. While I was impressed with tube and the attached sponge O was not bowled over by the shade and how it looked on my skin.
The applicantion was not easy on fact the beauty blender was quite stiff and hard on my skin. I used it both dry and damp. It felt hard against my skin and felt like I was doing more harm than good so I switched to my foundation brush and proceeded with an easier application. I applied to clean skin which was primed and immediately did not like the way it looked on my skin the shade looked off as if it had oxidized before I got any wear out of it. I completed my makeup application and went out.
I felt like I had an oil slick on my face despite me nothing with rice paper I couldn't wait to be back at home to take this off. with the second wear it was not so heavy on my skin so I chalked it up to the humidity of the day. The second the changing of the foundation shade still occurred and I still looked extra greasy not glowy or dewy as seems to be the trend that everyone is going for these days.
After three tries I came to the following conclusion if you suffer from dry skin then this will work for you. I have better success if I apply my moisturizer and. SPF separately letting each product absorb into my skin before applying the next one. And last but not least my formula will always be a mattifying formula and although these are good in theory they are not good for an oily skin acne prone skin girl.
