Dashing Diva Magic Press on Nails and Glimmer Community

Hello guys sorry that I have been away I took a break as my family and I suffered a tragedy with the loss of our infant son.
Renard Tyler George R.I.P. Our sweet angel.

My latest campaign comes from The Glimmer Community and The Dashing Diva Magic Press on Nails I received this product as an incentive in return for my unbiased and honest review and experience.

My initial thoughts on this campaign was that the nails would not work or last and that they would look cheap. The colors that I would personally choose. I was skeptical that they would compliment my style.

I give these nails a four out of five star rating they surprised me.

Application Tips:

Wash and dry hands and use the acetone pad to clear fingernails of any residue.
Take each fingernail and match to your natural nail.

The nail should fit perfectly, file away any edges and use manicure stick to push the cuticle back, fit nail peel off clear adhesive and press firmly for 30 seconds and done.

Application time hands feet about 15 mins.

Pros: quick application, variety of colors and nail styles.

Cons: If you use your hands frequently then you won't get much use out of it especially if your activities call for you to frequently wash your hands.

Final Assessment- these are great in a time crunch and can't make it to your manicure appointment, with such a variety of colors and styles you will have no trouble showcasing your inner DIVA.

What goes into being chosen for a Sampling Campaign

I wanted to share some tips on being selected for the samplings communities and what how's into it.
My longest I've ffering would be Smiley360. I have been apart of them I would say for the last five years. Smiley360 is pretty straightforward they send you a notice to head over to their website finish a qualifying survey for a new mission. And f you meet the qualifications then you are told that you are accepted. If it's full or if a a qotoa of a certain demographic has been met you may not get in

What I wanted to touch on was the Viewpoints community we have had a lot of chatter in other groups about how it's a scam and they have never received anything despite signing up. And I want to debunk that mythm This community is not just for freebies the hosts are counting on you the consumer to use the product more than once, to be honest and truthful in your review. There is a cost to them you getting to keep the item is an incentive.

These are some of the requirements or qualifying questions to be chosen by many of the sampling communities:

Age
Ethinicty
Has Young Children
Own Pets
Rent/Lease/Own
Metropolitan/Urban/Suburban/Rural
Has Older Children

For beauty products

Age (huge factor)
Ethinicty
Skin Issues i.e Oily skin, Dry Skin, Sensitive Skin, Acne Prone Skin,
And if course where you live,

Just looking at the above list you can see how the many thousands of applications are weeded out because after all why send a product to someone who doesn't fit into a category like getting pet food when you don't own a pet?

So if we as prouduct reviewers true product reviewers, are really into our craft without being "freebie crazy" then it will not be a" they are scam", they don't send anything out etc. Remember that the companies are spending money for the products, shipping hosting site so it's understandable that they would want the best fit for the campaign/ mission/ Clinical Trial.

I hope that this helps I will be peppering more of my tips or observations as I go in my sampling journey.

Crowdtap: Almay Best Blend Forever

Hello again, I am back again with another sampling opportunity from Crowdtap. This time it's from Almay you may know and recognize the brand as great with people who have sensitive skin. It's a well know and highly recognizable department store makeup brand.

Their latest contribution to the makeup world is a tube of foundational comes with its own beauty blender. The blender is detachable you can use it with the tube or if you are more comfortable you can use it with you favorite beauty tool i.e. Foundation brush or beauty blender. Along with the beauty blender it boasts moisturizers, SPF and being able to hydrate.

I have included the description from the company on this new product which you will see a few lines down.

Almay Best Blend Forever™ is a lightweight, creamy foundation plus moisturizer in one. It covers imperfections easily and flawlessly with a built-in blending tool that buffs skin to a beautiful finish. Packed with vitamins and SPF 40 to keep your skin hydrated for up to eight hours. Buff. Blend. Boom! — you’re ready to head out the door.

I used this foundation on three separate occasions to really get a feel of the product. Before I go further this product was given to me complimentary to facilitate my review. The opinions and experiences are all my own.

Now back to my review like I said I used this on three separate occasions, as you all know I love in sunny Florida where we experience summer type weather for more than 80% of the year. I also have oily acne prone skin and I do have a few blemishes/ can scars. I mention this becauas these issues are the driving force to the formula type I choose for my makeup.

I received the shades 200 Cappuccino Foundation and 210 Mocha to test. Now neither of these were an exact match one being off and the other being clearly too dark. I am not sure if the added ingredients had any impact on the foundations coloring but it would be a safe bet. While I was impressed with tube and the attached sponge O was not bowled over by the shade and how it looked on my skin.

The applicantion was not easy on fact the beauty blender was quite stiff and hard on my skin. I used it both dry and damp. It felt hard against my skin and felt like I was doing more harm than good so I switched to my foundation brush and proceeded with an easier application. I applied to clean skin which was primed and immediately did not like the way it looked on my skin the shade looked off as if it had oxidized before I got any wear out of it. I completed my makeup application and went out.

I felt like I had an oil slick on my face despite me nothing with rice paper I couldn't wait to be back at home to take this off. with the second wear it was not so heavy on my skin so I chalked it up to the humidity of the day. The second the changing of the foundation shade still occurred and I still looked extra greasy not glowy or dewy as seems to be the trend that everyone is going for these days.

After three tries I came to the following conclusion if you suffer from dry skin then this will work for you. I have better success if I apply my moisturizer and. SPF separately letting each product absorb into my skin before applying the next one.  And last but not least my formula will always be a mattifying formula and although these are good in theory they are not good for an oily skin acne prone skin girl.

Influenster Maybelline FIT ME DEWY AND SMOOTH Campaign

Hello again its been a minute Happy Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Kwanza and every holiday that I may have missed.

Glad to be back and to have more missions to talk about. My first, review comes from one of my favorite sampling communities Influenster and my favorite "drugstore brand" Maybelline maybe she's born with maybe its Maybelline lol. I had to put that in there.

Maybelline has struck gold with its new makeup line that has over 62 shades FIT ME which is available in two formulas : Matte and Dewy which gives a demi glow. The matte formula (which I use )is suited for those with oily skin. And the dewy formula which gives skin a bit of a glow not flat finish is geared towards those who prefer a bit of gloss and those of us who have dry skin thus giving skin a moisturized look.

As you have probably seen lately the latest trend which is still holding strong is having "that glow". That luminous look which is perfect for the extended winter weather we seemed to be having. Albeit not in Florida as much but we still had quite a few very cool days that were a welcome.

Like I mentioned before I use the matte formula due to my oily skin issues and break through shine. The formula is slightly different when it comes to shades in the Dewy and Smooth I can wear shade 355 whereas in the Matte its 360/362. Application was easy and coverage was great. I would recommend for those with dry skin . And those who want that demi blow not flat finish.

Also, included with my  voxbox was the Maybelline Prime by Face Studio Primer and Base 050. Hydrate+Smooth. This primer boasts the following attributes:

*Visibly smoothes
*Primes skin with hydration
*Lightweight formula
*Does not clog pores

I do have to rave about this primer this is such a feel good primer that it makes you want to forego makeup and I did on my makeup free Saturdays. I wore it alone and under my makeup and I loved both ways. This goes on clear and smoothes to a silky finish. This I will purchase again as I realize that this can be for the winter/spring early summer even. Another win for Maybelline
